The Cross That Saves
Gospel: John 3:13–17

The Cross has become the greatest sign of God’s love and salvation. |
Jesus tells Nicodemus that just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that all who believe in Him may have eternal life. God sent His Son not to condemn the world, but to save it through love.
The Cross was once a sign of shame and death, but it has become the most significant sign of hope in Christ. Jesus’ words to Nicodemus reveal the heart of God: love so deep that He would give His only Son for our salvation.
The Cross is the ultimate testament that love is more powerful than death. It enters into suffering, pain, and even death to redeem and transform it. We cannot escape hardship in life, but when we look at the Cross, we remember that no darkness is beyond God’s reach; we see love that refuses to stand apart from our suffering. It is a love that willingly endures pain, hardship, and the grave itself, all for transforming it.
In this paradox, we find a new understanding of victory; one that is not found in power or success, but in sacrifice, humility, and love poured out completely.
To gaze upon Christ lifted up is to find not condemnation, but the promise that even in our deepest despair, there is life to be seen.
May this reflection encourage you today, and let its light flow gently outward, like a blessing passed along.
